Savan Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 My headphone unit for my PSP went through the wash, and has had about a month to dry, but my question is really "is soap conductive", because if it is, I dont want to fry my PSP that I spent 3 months saving up for. New_ButNot Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 try on another device. Or go to an electronic store and use their radio lol ... hehe
Verran Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 I doubt soap is conductive (would depend on the type though, if you want to be absolutely certain), and the water should definately be dried up by now. If it was me, I'd just plug them in and not worry, but if you want to be more careful, you could find an old crappy walkman or something like that to test them out on first.... Silverfox Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 no but the soap could make some of the metal contacts a bit manky/corrode/react etc. try someone elses!
Savan Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 the problem is it isnt a regular audio port, it has 2 plugs, shaped like this the top plug is a regular audio plug, but the botom looks like the pins in an old videogame cartrage
archerion Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 It is perfectly fine for you to plug them in , first headphones are just two wires a magenet and membrain. Also headphones are high voltage the voltage also goes out to the headphone not into the PSP , if there no good they simply wont work. If you are really worried plug it into the PC you are sitting at.
Savan Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 and its not just headphones, it has a controler, that liiks like the front of an I pod, so it does send things back to the PSP.
Silverfox Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 the controller, lol , wont break the psp. it would need to have it's own power source to send back to the psp to damage it i reckon you'll be fine
