Hienrich Jager Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I have two Metal Gear Box External 3.5" HDD enclosures and on the box it says that they support daisy chaining. What is that, is it good, what does it do. I tried google'ing it, but didn't find anything to my liking. Hopefully someone knows about this feature thx in advance Hienrich

Silverfox Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 isnt it where one device uses a port, and you can plug another device into the already plugged-in device and so on? hence, chaining?
Ste Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 yes, its most common with SCSI devices. SCSI devices have to be terminated at the end though.
bigdaddy25fb Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 yah..but wouldnt that be the suck for bandwidth intensive operations on the disk? like big file transfers and such? unless youre running firewire b....then you have 800mbs to use
