Ahhh Moldy Laptop!

Recommended Posts

Well I was trying to find out what was wrong with the laptop my uncle gave me. After Finaly figuring out how to take out the motherboard I found to my horror a thin, light green crust covering most of the bottom of the motherboard and the case. I call my ucle and he explains its from the countless moutain dew, beer, and all other kinds of liquer spills. After scrubbing it off carefully with alchohol and a soft tooth brush I got it all off. Now its under a lamp to dry it all off. Hopefully it works tomarrow *crosses fingers*. Heres a picture of the horrible laptop.

Can you see if there are any busted traces or ones that may have been 'eaten' but your mobo garden? Did you check/clean/reset all the connections like ram? The ribbon cable connections can be kinda tricky on older machines, you may wanna re-check those connections. Are there any possible connection problems between the CPU and board? Laptop cpus are kinda finicky...
