Hienrich Jager Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Try looking for a prog called ERD Commander. That should allow you to create a new password for the admin profile. Hienrich
Mister_Webmaster Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Why not take the HDD out of it and put it in another computer, and pull the files off that way, or install XP on it without reformating.
CNUco2007 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 there are also some free Linux Based bootable cd utilities that you can use to change the admin pass.
cybergrunt69 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 As opposed to changing the password to get the files, put the drive(s) as a secondary disk in another system and get what you need. Or, boot to a live Linux CD (like Knoppix) to copy the files. Yes, you could just install XP without reformatting, but that would leave a whole bunch of other junk on the drive - a format during install is much better.
