FergJob Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 its kinda of a reuse of an old post, i put a new heatsink and fan on, my system temp is about 30F cooler, but my processor. is 160F... is this good?
markiemrboo Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 160 degrees Fahrenheit = 71.1111111 degrees Celsius OUCH. way too hot for me, you should be aiming for 55C load. Is that an idle or load reading? I think you might want to reseat that heatsink and fan. It's probably not making good contact. You used some good paste too, right? *ppssst* I recommend you switch that system off an reseat ASAP
IUMaestro Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 yea. hopefully you wont get this post cause the system will be OFF and you will be trying to reseat it. search these forums for many many threads about how to make sure you are doing everything right to cool your cpu. paste, good tight fit, working fan, etc.. report back! Guest Raven65 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 That's pretty high! Did you use AS5 hs paste?
kobalt Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Sounds like your HS dosn't touch your chip and heat transfer goes trough paste alone anyways that's a bit hot
