BloodySunday Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Best way is not to use the AOL AIM client try Trillian or GAIM.

Waco Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 How do i turn of the stupid aim advertiesments the ones that come on and like show a commrieal not the little AIM today thing that pops up when i start I had it so no sound played before but now cant get it to work ???? help thanks 487905[/snapback] Just search Google for "aim ad-hack." It will remove all the stupid ads and you won't have to learn anything new. It works perfectly.
cybergrunt69 Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 I don't use aim, but I'm thinking that if you're using a firewall (you are, right?!?!?!?) you should be able to block those ads by the app name that runs them, or at least the IPs they are running from. Also, I'm assuming they open in a small IE (popup) window. Try using Firefox or Mozilla and disable popups. Disclaimer: I'm not using AIM, so plz disregard if I'm off-track...
