Coolzero101 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Thats a really vaque way to put it. Overall computer edumacation would help, but I guess ill give it a shot. Make sure your router ports are forwarded " go to http://192.168.1.1 to access the router, log in is admin:admin, forward the ports 1-65535 on both TCP and UDP protocols for w/e pc is being the server, then just download the games you want to serve for and make dedicated servers. LobbDogg Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 popular free webserver software is Apache Teamspeak server software can be found on their site, and then your choice of game. Get this stuff then you can ask more of the specifics, but for now start with this stuff.

Guest Raven65 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Dude, Ports are what a router will let open so you can send and recieve info from other puters. There is a tutorial somewhere. Forgot where that will explain this to you. read that and then come back and ask questions about set up etc. It would take a 5000 word essay to give you the whole rundown. We can help you but right now you need to understand the lingo and how a router works and a server works. Holy Crap. Cooler? You tryin to hack the noob? that's opening a can of worms and letting all the fish bite. Eagle all you need to do is open the ports that are required to run the game or games you want to host. BionicSniper Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 your computers behind the router dont get a internet ip they get a ip assigned my the router usually 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.101 and soo on depending on how many computers you have

Guest Raven65 Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Or you could assign an ip to your server computer, like 192.168.1.40 etc, then only open the ports to that specific assigned ip.
