RadioActivated Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 Hey all, I am about to reinstall XP, and I have many songs that I ripped from my CDs, and I would like to create a partition just for those songs so that when I reinstall, I won't lose them. Is there a program that can create NTFS partitions ? I did a search and I only found appz for Linux and others...
upok Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 v-comm's "partition commander" does about 40 different format styles. ntfs, fat, reiserfs, ext3, and on and on. i have used it for a year or 2 and it has always worked for me. the only thing it gets kinda weird about is resizing ntfs, but creating a new one is easy enough. kendellrt Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 Just create separate partitions when you are installing Windows.

silkster Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 it is NOT impossible to resize NTFS partition, as stated above, partition magic does this very easy without any problems
cybergrunt69 Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 Partition Magic is my favorite for partition work. And yes, several apps can resize NTFS partitions. Windows itself can resize partitions - but only to make them bigger, you'll need other apps to shrink them.
