well, i reformatted my hard drive and yes forgot to backup my itunes, is there anyways short of calling apple for help w/ this, transferring songs from my ipod to a fresh install

of itunes????

You can use a player called PodPlayer to copy all of the songs off of your iPod into a directory of your choice on your computer. It is really simple to use. Just select all of your music and import away. Once you're done, just direct iTunes to the folder with all the music and you should be set.

 

One thing though, I don't think the program imports playlists. So you're gonna have to recreate those (which means you lose Top 25 Most Played, Recently Played, etc.)
