Ryan21 Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Well, I'm going off to school in the fall and am going to build a system by then. A mutual friend put the following together: Motherboard ECS NFORCE4-A939 (1.0) Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135177 Processer AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Integrated into Chip FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3700BNBOX - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103539 Memory CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWINX1024-3200C2PT - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145450 Video Card Apollo Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814140048 Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 ST3250823AS 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148065 Cd/Dvd Drive NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3520A - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827152035 Case THERMALTAKE Tsunami VA3000BWA Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811133132 TOTAL:$991.49 ----------------------------- I wanted something good for gaming, but don't have the funds for an absolute top of the line system. I mainly play FPS, so will this be good? Also, is there any way you think I could get a comparative system for cheaper? I will also need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. BTW, I am thinking about waiting until mid-july to order to try and get better deals. Any other reccomendations would be welcomed. email- [email protected]
slugbug3311 Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I just ordered these for the A64 system I am currently trying to piece together... one is cheeper and one is more expensive. Corsair memory here and this case. Also I have this monitor, it freakin rocks and you can get it at any local Frys for cheaper than newegg. Guest Raven65 Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Dude, MSI Neo4 platinum MoBo, Mushkin Ram from MushKin.com, 6600gt or 256 mb XFX PCIE. Don't limit yourself to newegg, there are many others with less expensive prices.
