I Need Good Cooling For My 3.0c To Oc

Recommended Posts

i can hit a high oc on my 478 3.0c but cant keep it stable cuz my temps shoot above 130 deg f. i can prob hit like 3.7 but im at 3.3 cuz of my lack of cooling. for like 75$ i couldnt get water cooling right? or any cooling thatll be suffice for my situation. i need sumthin thatll take care of me up to 4ghz worth of heat. i gotta thermaltake polo 735 right now and its not cuttin it. what can i get for like 75$ or less preferably thatll suit me well.

one subject, one thread, one post... it's in the rules dude... don't worry bout people not seeing it... many of us don't read individual forums anyway (i just read the daily active topics ;))

$75 is a nice amount to play around with and should easily get you the best aircooling... i'd say get yourself a Thermalright XP-120 with a 120x120x38mm Panaflo and if that doesn't fit, then an XP-90 with a 92mm Vantec Tornado

i've seen a number of people oc a 3.0c over 4ghz on air alone... while it's not typical, it IS possible with the right chip... if you get unlucky with the chip you should get around at least 3.5... and something around 3.7 seems to be the "usual" oc with decent cooling

It seems to be more in the chip than the cooling. The 4 Ghz 3.0c is about as elusive as the 2.8 Ghz Winchester. Thermalright XP (90, 90c, or 120) would probably be your best bet for air cooling.

I've got a Thermaltake Big Typhoon on my 3.0E, and am running 3.87 GHz and temperatures are definitely not holding me back. 52-53 under full load at 3.87 and that isn't bad at all for a Prescott.
