jskirwin Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Going crazy here... Specs: Soyo Mobo Athlon XP2600 Barton NEC 1735 Multisync Display (Driver from NEC website - 3/05) XP Pro Sapphire ATI 9550 video card (DVI & VGA) (Driver from ATI - 5/05) Problem: Display loses signal after XP Pro welcome screen. Computer continues booting and I'm able to Alt+F4 "in the dark" but the display is dead. Monitor is set to the NEC monitor - although the same results with straight "plug and play". Some comments suggest reducing the DVI speed, but I can't find an option to do that. Same problem using either VGA - VGA, VGA - DVI, DVI - VGA, DVI - DVI. I occasionally get a screen of whacked out Windows logos or barcode-like pattern. Safe mode or VGA displays fine. Card runs fine attached to a CRT. Any ideas or direction to go? I'm pulling out what little hair I have left.
xPETEZx Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 If it works fine with another monitor, sounds like the Monitor is on its way out Tried it on another Machine?
cchalogamer Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 humm same thing loarmistead's 9600pro did when it had a cracked core (danged if i know how it cracked) it would look perfect in the bios/loading screens, but as soon as the display drivers were started it would freak. i suggest RMAing the card.
