Freezes On Detecting Ide Drives...

Recommended Posts

Well, I fixed the MBR on my 80 gig hard drive(opened up the recovery console, went to the WINDOWS directory on the 80 gig, and did the fixmbr command), changed the jumper to master, and changed the jumper on the 4 gig one to slave.

However, it hangs up on "Detecting IDE Drives..." when booting. Any idea on what to do?

can't get into bios? is it your MoBo? try unpluging one and see if you can get in. then go back and reset the jumpers even if they r right. then go back in the bios and an auto detect. if not Reformat.
