Kamikaze_Badger Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Well, I fixed the MBR on my 80 gig hard drive(opened up the recovery console, went to the WINDOWS directory on the 80 gig, and did the fixmbr command), changed the jumper to master, and changed the jumper on the 4 gig one to slave. However, it hangs up on "Detecting IDE Drives..." when booting. Any idea on what to do?
markiemrboo Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 You probably got the jumpers wrong I suppose, double check them? Either that or you forgot to plug the IDE cable back in
cybergrunt69 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Does one of them have a "master - no slave" or "master with slave" jumper? Each of them do properly identify themselves alone, right? Can you identify them in the bios?
Kamikaze_Badger Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 I can't even get into BIOS... I made sure the jumpers were correct.
Guest Raven65 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 can't get into bios? is it your MoBo? try unpluging one and see if you can get in. then go back and reset the jumpers even if they r right. then go back in the bios and an auto detect. if not Reformat.
