NCC10281982B Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Is he using a router? What kind? Is there more that one computer? It is possable to block internet access by MAC address. You could try that. If you have XP SP2 you can use Set program Access and defaults to deny access to the program.

cybergrunt69 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Instead of password-protecting an application, how about just making a (fairly) simple change. In IE or FireFox, go into the config, and put in a proxy server address - like 127.0.0.1. Every time you wanna use the computer for legit internet access, change it back to normal. Other than that, try using different user accounts on the system, lock down the kid's, and have the other ones with standard access. Protect the user accounts with passwords - that's why they are there. The kid's account could also be allowed internet accesss, but you can disable downloads.
