Car Audio Setup Help

You might like to check out this link. You can read up on what all the various specs mean. That way you'll know how to compare different brands and components.

Pressing the button in the upper right corner will make the face fold down. The CD slot is behind it. Helps keep dust out by making them that way.

I'll try to put together a simple inexpensive system for you to look at in the next day or two.

That player you just linked would be a pretty good one. :thumbs-up:

I didn't look at what was linked, but pioneer speakers are good for the money, so whatever he linked ought to work just fine for you. Crutchfield is a great place to do research on stuff. You can put in what car you've got and it will tell you what will fit with no modification to your vehicle. I generally wouldn't recommend you buy there, since they do tend to be a little more expensive. They do have great customer support though and usually included everything you'll need, so sometimes the extra cost is worth it.

i agree, they are a bit pricey, but they have mad stuff when it comes to researching, i have never personally bought anything from them but they have really good reviews.

they are the newegg of car audio.

edit* also i agree with camaro in the fact that sony blows at car audio...good for other things but not car audio.

and asus, u need to find the exact model of ur car, u said its either a 93 or 94...the 93's have 5.25inch speakers in the back and the 94's have 7inch speakers in the back.

I bought a deck from them. They send you all the parts you need (dash kit, car adapter, etc). It really was the Newegg of car audio. As for your dead speakers, their probably just totally shot. That's what was wrong with my car when I got it. I pulled the old ones and put in the new and they worked fine

Yick. I hate those. My friend has 3 of them and outside his truck you can barely hear them. Inside isn't that great either. I've got two 12" Audiobahns I'd sell for $120 shipped. Brand new. Doesn't come with a box though. As for an amp, I like the Sony amps. They have a pretty good price and power. Pioneer's also good. Make sure to get at least 2/3 of the max power needed by the subs (max sub=1200 watts, max amp should be at least 800)

Just a quick view for a 93 Toyota Corolla. Using Crutchfields prices that should come in at about $777. I have personally bought all kinds of things from them. They do have excellent customer service that are more than happy to help with any questions.

you would definately need a cap for anything above 500 watts in a little car like that...those alternators on those 4cylinders are puny. i have a v6 chevy car and i needed one because the car would stall at idle...ofcourse i was blowing 60amp fuses and needed 80 to keep them running.

you mean that capasiter? ?? some people told me you need an extra battery.. idk about that?? is that true... or would that capasitar take care of it..

now about the amp.. you siad it should be at least 2/3 of the max power of the subs.. so.. that amp says 200 wats.. then it starts talking about other wattages and stuff..

and a NON powered sub and a POWERED sub?? wow.. to many options lol

you could be cool like me and get 5 AW1000Q AudioBahn 600RMS each 4 ohm subs !!! lol i have all 5 of them in the trunk/back seat of my 97 corolla. also got a pair of infinity 6000CS component subs in the rear.

difference between powered/non-powered is powered is amplified it self so u dont need a amp for it but it sounds like . :/. just get a pair of non-powered subs and pair it with a good amp. OH YEA DONT BUY OF CRUTCHFIELD, RESEARCH ON CRUTCHFIELD, BUY ON EBAY, I SAVED $700 BUYING FROM EBAY!!!

Installing an extra battery will not help nor make a difference. To much time and money lost in setting up a extra battery. A cap will make a better improvement. The amp I spec out is 600watts bridged, 4 ohms stable. The subs are 600watts 4 ohms. A perfect match and not to costly for an amp that size.

Powered subs are kinda weak. They offer an amp built in with the subs. Easier to hook up, but you lose a lot of customability.

I am not saying that you have to buy these componets at Crutchfield. I suggest it because you are new to car audio and they will be just a call away. Thats easier than posting and waiting, but it's your call bud.
