Thanks for finding that Camaro. IMO I really don't think it would hurt that much. You usually don't drive the front's as hard as the backs. I usually balance mine to the rear a bit, but if any doubt lingers then change them. Better to be safe than sorry.

As far as the install goes:

If you get lucky you can find a grommet in the fire wall to run the power cable. If not then you will have to drill a hole big enough for a grommet and the cable. That should be about the only one you will have to drill though. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that all cars have sill trim. It covers the edge of the carpet or vinyl ( looks better ). Unscrew it and run your cables under it, them screw it back down****Bit of caution**** don't run the screw through the cables you just put under there. Do not run them under the car. This will lead to problems later on they are exposed to the elements. Also an easier way (again not trying to correct) is to cut a slit in the carpet in a hidden place, cut another one back at the amp again in a hidden place then run a fish tape through the holes and pull the wire under the carpet. Hope this helps.

I have a 66 Mustang with mainly Alpine stuff. I have an Alpine deck, 9851, Alpine type-s 5 1/4" in the front. Two Alpine Type-R 12" subwoofers in the trunk. And a JBL GTO 1200.1 amp for the subs. I really don't need the rear speakers since the subwoofers hit so hard. The amp was kinda overkill though. 1300 watts RMS at 2 ohms, and my subwoofers only need 600. Front speakers were 100, subwoofers were 110 each, amp was 375.

That does sound like a nice setup you have there. So, i will take a look and see were i could run the cables. I am not great at running cables but, how long do you think i would need for the power and RCA cables if the amp is in the back. This is a regular sized sedan so its nothing HUGE but noting realy small eather. Any suggestions on that would be great.

i have a 97 corolla but not sure if its like ur corolla, my door sills all i have to do is unscrew on the left side of the pedals and then pull the door sill up. for the cables, just buy a amp kit. it would be alot easier than you buying each individual parts, once you have the amp kit, the only thing you need to cut is the power and turn on cable, you can cut that after your thread it through your car. I had to drill a 1 inch firewall hole but you wont have to go that big cuz i used 0 Gauge lol. the 20W front speakers should do fine, i have rear components from infinity that are rated 90W RMS and i have the amp running them at 120RMS. it should be fine. if you dont want to take the risk, these infinity's are nice for the front:

just remember, if your going to get component speakers(normal speakers front/back but tweeter is seperate) get its own amp. i had my components hooked up to my heasd unit, sounded like crap, hooked up to a amp, sounded great.

this amp kit is good:

cool cool.. my friend dave nasso said i would need a bigger amp then the one that was scoped out.. he also siad.. i should run the wires through the firewall.. fortunately, he knows how to do that. So pretty much, i just gata get the stuff and he will help me install it. Those front speakers are nice.

now.. would the speakers you scoped out work with the deck or would i need an amp for those? Thanks

I hate the idea of spending $80 on a pair of 4" speakers. I'd just go with something cheaper (not ultra cheap though). I doubt you'd notice a difference between a $100 4" and a $50 4"

those speakers are fine without a amp. your friend is right, the firewall is located in the front of the car where the front of the car meets the inside. you still have to route the wires through the door sills then only the power cable goes through the cars firewall to the battery. how many subs are you going to be running, and what type of sub. If you run 1 AW1000Q then wire it like this:

(THE 2 OHM WIRING, THE FIRST PICTURE)

and use this amp:

runs too expensive on crutchfield, u can get it for $250 on ebay.
