asus Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Well, i have a car now. I want to replace the stock speekers, its a 93-94 toyota corolla SE or CE or someting.. anyway.. the front speekers dont work at all, and the rear speekers dont sound very good. Anyway, i need to replace the speekers, now i am looking for good sound, not subs or anything.. and i am also looking for it to be as inexpensive as possable, yet still keeping quality. I dont want to hvae to add another battery or an amp.. i want to use what i got.. just a sony CD player.. anyway.. i know some of you guys here at OCC are real car buffs.. so give me some advice on what i can get... thanks
sYstEmATiC Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 ok i have some good suggestions...these speakers will fit in a 93 corola sedan, didnt check on the 94.... ok for the fronts, these are quite nice for the money... Pioneer TS-G1040R http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QMNqjxJFsyC/c...00&I=130TSG1040 and for the back Pioneer TS-A1370R http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QMNqjxJFsyC/c...00&I=130TSA1370 pioneer are exellent speakers for the cash, but then again, they do have some higher model speakers that cost more too. 94Camaro Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I didn't look at what was linked, but pioneer speakers are good for the money, so whatever he linked ought to work just fine for you. Crutchfield is a great place to do research on stuff. You can put in what car you've got and it will tell you what will fit with no modification to your vehicle. I generally wouldn't recommend you buy there, since they do tend to be a little more expensive. They do have great customer support though and usually included everything you'll need, so sometimes the extra cost is worth it. InvaderTrax Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Your rear speakers are actually 7" (at least from the search I did, '94 LE), so a 6.5 or 7 would be way better than a 5.25. I've got 4 of these in my dad's truck and they're pretty nice: http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIOTSA1671R?vq_id=none

BTW.. i am assuming i will have enough bass, not to MAKE the neigborhood shake.. but to hear the bass lol..
InvaderTrax Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 The ones I listed have decent bass. As for a CD player (or CD/speaker combos), go to BestBuy and test several things out. BestBuy really lets your flog their components before you buy so you can get a great feel for what you like. Then, buy something online (unless they have an open box for a good deal)

Usually quality and cheap don't go together. Sony are probably a good price for you. I'd suggest just spending a little extra and getting Alpine. You can get the Type-S at a good deal. You can go to http://www.alpine-usa.com and use their little program to find what size speakers fit your car.
94Camaro Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Personally I won't touch anything by Sony. All of it is pretty much worthless IMO. Pioneer and Kenwood are both good, and of course Alpine.
