Recommended Posts

hi guys guess what i powered up my system and all of a sudden i get an error my primary ide channel does not work and my video is all garbled instant fear came over me since my 6800 ultra is just a few months old. at firs glance the memory modules seem to be jacked. but what explains the ide issue? i tried my card on another machine and had exact issue so im calling evga and have received an rma issue 1 solved. now i buy a temp cheesy card and pop it in still ide issue so i drop my 1st ide channel and put drives on secondary had to temp.. retire my dvd to keep my burner. head ache starts when i have a dvd then i have to shut down and switch. finally get it up but now my network card is trying to reinstall but fails(on board) ok i say now what. i have another one thats wireless so get temporary relief anyways i still need wired speed so i put an dlink on and now works fine. what in the heck is happening to my board??? can some one conjur an explanation on why all this happened at the same time. is the board is shot should i just go with a amd 64 solution and start fresh i have three sata drives i want to plug in at the same time so next must include 4 sata capacity any suggestions??

looks like maybe something (possibly cheapo PSU) killed the board, and possibly got the card at the same time. But i would say try to get an RMA for the board aswell.

And what kind of power supply are you running?

complete system specs would be nice (put it in your sig for future aid)
