Ste Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 (edited) safe mode, Same sounds and freeze last known good configuration, same sounds and freeze incerted XP disk, changed boot priority to boot from it, bios didn't detect any my my 3 drives, can't get to boot off XP disk, continusly says boot failure. Clearing CMOS now. funny thing is, never went higher than 2.30 Ghz Edit 10 Minutes later, I cleared CMOS got it to boot from XP disk, I hit r for repair however, it went to XP recovery or something then it asked me what install i wanted to log onto So I typed one hit enter asked for admin password, but I don't have one so I just rebooted, anyways. Bios detects all drives, windows boots. Ok so it works but, I turn it off for safty, I will buy another 120GB soon so I may copy over? any other ideas, suggestions? I don't even know how to copy whole contents of a drive. Edit the next day- Guys I really need advice here, just listen. I can get into windows but random time into it, just surfing web, I get clicking sound then BSOD, Machine_check_exception. So should I buy a new 120 GB Hd, Copy data over then try reformatting the one I have? I do I copy data over? Hrmmm Could a virus do this? I bet yes but I don't want to lose my songs more importantly then anything else on it. Edited May 14, 2005 by Ste
