asus Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I need to take an image of a hard drive.. and push it out to computers on my network. SO if my downstairs computer has an image that i use for that, and the os gets corupted,, i would like to be able to boot, and restore to an image on my server. Anyone have any idea? Or software that will do this..
andrusk Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 If you have symantec ghost you can set up your computer to do a network boot and download the image off of a server, or you can have the image on a dvd and install it that way. Either way, I think ghost is what you want.
LobbDogg Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I've done it with Norton Ghost 2003 alongside with a custom BartPE cd that allowed us to basically map a network drive for use with PC Dos. However like Andrusk said...Symantec Ghost is made to do this as is out of the box. Other companies have similar products, I know Power Quest makes something. Dasterdly Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 We used Ghost in school. It does exactly what you're talking about, we used it in high school. It's great because it will keep the computers name and IP the same so you won't have conflicts. It's a great program and I think you can get a trial version of it.
