Onyks Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 gotta new hardrive and was wonderin how to change the letter name of the drive so that they are in sequence like hard disks = c and d and cdrom = e and f right now i have a c(hard) d(dvdrw) e(dvdrw) so how can i rename my new hardrive to be "d" and the dvdrws to change to "e" and "f"?? cybergrunt69 Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Assuming you're using WinXP, go into 'computer manager -> disk management' and right-click on the drive(s) you want to change, and click 'change drive letter and paths' You might have to give some a temp letter so you can free up the ones you want to use. Also, you might break some apps if they have a drive letter hard coded in their setup (ex: games or other apps that have a cdrom drive letter assigned) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
