if you have the money go for an LCD, theres no reason not to,

LCD's in contrast to CRT's use less electricity, give off less radiation thus hurting eye balls less and take up less space. I wish i got one.

LCDS also have less resolution, so if your a graphics nut, want to save money, and have the space keep the CRT. LCD's are great, I have one and do gaming and its a 25ms response time but at 19" its only 1280x1024. A crt in comparison would do 1600x1200. The price difference is near 200 bucks also. But if you decide to go LCD I suggest a 19" or larger Samsung with 8ms response and DVI connection.

For me the deciding factor is space, i woudl go with two CRTs over LCDs bc of price, but my desk has room for one 19" or less CRT and one (or maybe two 15") LCD. I currently have a 17" CRT and a 15" LCD. If i had the $$$$ to drop atm i would prob get a 19" LCD to replace this CRT and give me more desk room.

LCD's are great. i dont know what the deal is about lcd's having lower contrast than CRTs. i have to turn down the brightness and stuff on my viewsonic lcd cuz its so bright it hurts my eyes. i recommend lcds. they are simply better. smaller, energy efficient (more so than crts), etc. most ppl who swear by crts either havent used an lcd or simply cant afford one. lcds are expensive so if you cant afford it, crt is the way to go. my 19" viewsonic 12ms was $540! (but well worth it)
