DECwakeboarder Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 what do you have in mind, i'm not to that point yet and all ides are welcomecan you explain a bit ? 476080 You know how the cables on PSU's such as the X-Connect are? I was thinking something like that so that you could use only the cables you need, but still have the possibilty to expand if need be. NoNothing Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 will the mic plug be able to hold that wattage at full draw?
kobalt Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 will the mic plug be able to hold that wattage at full draw? 476707 Sure, the pins in the male plugs are close to same as the 4 pin in a molex we all know so the female should be as good. And about the wattage, i'm just using 4 psu, 1 for each group of devices and they will all act as 1 and the same but it will not increase the wattage of each one if i can explain it like this, it will be like 1 psu with 4-12V rails 4-5Vrails and so on. So each ps will give it's 550 or 400W as usual but they will never be overdrawn or overheated since they will have so little to do and that's also why i went with generic psu
Hienrich Jager Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Addtionally, if you go to Radio Shack thay have a full line of molex male/femaly terminals that you coulf use for the modulars. But i think that to go along with the spirit of the whole mod you should either build your own plugs/recepticals of go with the mic jacks.
