TiKiGoD Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 onboard will work just fine
mikeock Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 on board is usually the way to go
Notesinger Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Will onboard be faster in anyway? or will it bew the same?
Pendragon Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 same unless your trying to make a dhcp server. Stick with onboard. no difference
TiKiGoD Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Yeah, easier, and you don't have to waste a PCI slot
amdgeek Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I would suggest using the card. It is most likely faster and using a card rather than onbaord will take up less CPU usage.
d3bruts1d Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Glad I wasn't gonna be the only one to say use the card.
TiKiGoD Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 yeah card... but if you have cable or DSL, it's gonna be capped anyways, so way not just use the cheaper option?
ATI Radeon 8500 Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 Well I can attest t ousing a card personally even on cable. When I used onboard, I would lag horribly while gamng but I lag 1/4 as much when I use the card. Anyway you can easily find a card for $5-$10 new so it's not much to spend.
