AntitrustSpider Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I'm new to overclocking and everyone says motherboard monitor is the best. Unfortunately my motherboard isn't supported. My BIOS was reading the temp ok but I can't view that in Windows. I downloaded SpeedFan and it's saying the temp is 48 celcius at the moment. It really doesn't feel hot near the processor and the heatsink isn't hot either. I'm thinking it's right but I also think SpeedFan isn't supposed to support my motherboard either. I need to know if it's too hot or not. I overclocked it quite a bit and don't wanna mess up my new computer :-\
Kash Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 First off, give us your exact system specs. What mobo, processor, etc. Second, tell us how much you have overclocked your system. Finally, what sort of cooling do you have? Stock? Aftermarket?

It has the stock heatsink and fan but I put some arctic silver 5 in there. Under the largest loads I put on it, it gets up to 60 at the most, but right after drops to around 45-50. I just put the arctic silver on less than a week ago so I figure it's not totally finished setting. When I turn ATITool...the little 3D thing while it's testing for artifacts or testing the highest core and memory speed it gets up to atleast 64. I'm not really sure at what temperature the CPU starts to mess up either... Edited May 9, 2005 by AntitrustSpider
slayer2cool Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 it should be alright since you are using a stock cooler..when i had my stock cooler back then, i hit 55C on idle at stock speed now its 50C at load at 15% OCed
