leifeinar Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 why want my multiplier go above 10x?? only want to clock the cpu. got good timings on my mem (2-2-2-5-1) Kingston HyperX 1024MB 400MHz DDR. tink it would increaset the performance if i could use them instead of 2.5-3-3-8-1T?? upok Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 winchester 3200 multipliers are maxed out at 10. if you want a higher multi, you'll have to buy a new processor.

markiemrboo Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Unless you get an FX-53/55/57 I am pretty sure you're out of luck. The multipliers on those are unlocked, the multipliers on the 'normal people' chips are half locked (you can only adjust the multiplier downwards)

oralpain Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Real CPU speed divided by 200 is the multiplier on an A64. Â If you need an 11 multiplier, don't buy a chip slower than 2.2Ghz. Â As other have pointed out, you cannot rasie the multiplier on non-FX A64s. Â Just increase the external clock and lower the HT and memory ratios. NoNothing Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 fi you NEED your ram to run at 200MHz at 2-2-2-5 then you could run a divider. but im pretty sure that 2.5-3-3-7 at like 250 is better then 200 at 2-2-2-5...you ahve to run benchys to test it

I'd only go for real tight timings if I couldnt run like 30mhz ram speed more looser. The 3500+ a64s have 11x multi max. leifeinar Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 my max ram setting is 200 mhz.... how do i fix that?
Puck Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 my max ram setting is 200 mhz.... how do i fix that? 474956[/snapback] Max stable or max that shows up? If its stability pumping the volts may get you more, but that must be pretty crap ram to top at 200. If thats all it will allow you to set then you need a new motherboard geared towards overclockers
leifeinar Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 its the max setting in bios.... think i have an ok motherboard msi k8n neo4. and Kingston HyperX 1024MB 400MHz DDR is suposed to be ok ram???

Look for htt freq, thats your ram mhz.
