Microphone Problems!

My microphone is connected properly, and i can hear it when i test it, but it is EXTREMELY QUIEt. If i YELL into it, i can barely hear myself. I have all noticeable volume adjustments set to max for microphone. can anyone help?

got any Mic Boost settings? lots of sound cards or whatnot have mic boost.. look for it

well on my configuration audio devices it says my mic isnt plugged in properly, but its in all the way... (tere are two places to put either green or pink audio chords- front and back of computer- mine are both in back right nw)

what is the mic model?

what is the soundcard model?

what os are you using?

what kind of mobo. is it 8 channel or 6. that makes a difference since on an 8 ch, you don't have the line in adjustment. turn on mic boost. if that don't work just put a piece of tape on the back side of the mic to stop ambient noise , that might work
