Dtaylor Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I got a pentium, socket 4 that has a built-in cooling fan! I could make it go really fast without it heating up too soon! Say, do they make socket 7's like that? B:)

tbone2sk Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 (edited) wow it has a fan on the chipset. o boy lol T-his is a overclocking site, and most of us know that some mobos have fans on their chipsets. Not to be mean, but the fans on there do not help much, if any. Edited May 5, 2005 by tbone2sk

CoolMaster Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 ummmmmmmm more info to know what your talking about lol I dont like fans on chipsets that much, mainly because they can fail, and dont really help all that much
kanbeki Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 You are all idiots. The CPU itself has a fan attached to it. Not the Northbridge. Futhermore, he is wondering if they make socket 7 cpus like this, and no, not to my knowledge.
Dtaylor Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I doubted it anyway. The cooling fan itself is too small to do a lot of good, but I took it apart and found that although part of the fan is built in to the processor, you can upgrade it with just the right mod. I think a chasis fan could bu put in in place of the fan itself, but the rest of the cooling system is built in.
