Ste Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Well on Newegg you can get XP Home SP2 for 90 Bucks if you buy hardware with it, so you can save like 40-50 bucks right there.
Kash Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 But Home edition sucks........ I say spend that extra money for Professional. There ARE noticable differences between the Home and Professional editions of Windows XP
Ste Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 whatever, just trying to save money. And its not a bad deal, so pro is better then XP but how much more does it cost?
BiPolar Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 i'm feeling lazy right now, but i'm pretty sure that the fata1ity board is really over priced for its abilities. I remember a thread about this when it came out.
Marine Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I have xp home on my old comp and xp pro on m new one and to be honest i don't see any differences...
Nerm Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 TBH I don't think there is an emmense amount of difference between XP home and pro. Also, I would recommend against that abit mobo and suggest like the DFI Ultra-D or MSI nf4 boards.
Sovek Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 (edited) not to mention try and save some money, Im building a gaming system for under $1K $2.5K is well over the price limit. another suggestion, buy a 17" from your local salvation army or goodwill for about 20 bucks, that what I did, I have three of em, all for about 60 bucks. work great (cept my Geforce 4 MX400 has issues with one of them.)
