Redskins36 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 (edited) I bought my 3500+ Venice chip from Newegg last week and the price was $279. I happened to go on the website today and now they are selling it for $315. Thats roughly a $35+ increase. Man am I glad I bought it last week. They are also sold out, I guess that would explain why the price has gone up. They figure, jack the price up cause these people are buying them either way. Anyway, just figured I'd share. http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp...N82E16819103532 Edited May 3, 2005 by Redskins36
bigred Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 it's called supply and demand. if someone is WILLING to pay that much for the few remaining chips you still have left... why not?
ccokeman Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Newegg is getting pretty good at the gouging the customer game. Earlier this year i was looking to get an fx-55 and as soon as i had the cash it went from $800 to $1250. I went and got a 3000 and put the rest to work somewhere else. It's a good gig if you can get it ..... I guess.
bigred Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 yes it is. I can charge more for the venice chips than I do for the winchesters only cuz people WILL pay it. the trick is not charging so much that they won't pay.
ccokeman Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I know I know. It's just that at a point you have to ask why. And the all mighty dollar is where its at. A $450 dollar increase on a chip that is back to $830 is pretty bad in my book. I understand supply and demand so i'll wait as usual for the demand to slacken up then make my purchase. red930 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 that is really odd that they would change the price so much in so little amount of time. i can see a fluxuation, but in almost $50? something is odd with that.
Redskins36 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 (edited) I think Newegg hired a guy to sit there and change the price all day. Everytime I go on there its different. Edited May 7, 2005 by Redskins36
