Redskins36 Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I would like to here some people's opinion on this card.... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-125-181&depa=1 I have the GIGABYTE "GA-K8NXP-SLI" NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Chipset Mobo, figured I'd stay with GIGABYTE on the video card too. r_target Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 It's a powerful card, and runs neck and neck with the competition in it's class.
SMeeD Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Its a good overclocker, can reach speeds above ultra I would go ahead and get it. Or you can buy it for me
Fanatic Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I bought the EVGA 6800GT. Its a great card. That one should be just as good.
Nerm Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 That is a good card if you are just wanting to game.
Redskins36 Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Yeah I just want it for gaming... I'm not into CAD and stuff like that. Hey, while I'm thinking about it... Does anyone know if you have to have the exact card for utilizing SLI? For example, say I buy that card in the next couple days and use it for a year. After a year a better card comes out and its obviously different then the one I bought a year earlier. My question is, can I mix and match the video cards to make them run together? Does that make sense?
martymcfly Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 i think they have to be identical, otherwise it may just act as raid (e.g 20 and 40=40)
swifty11212 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 must be the same card with the same bios revisions, otherwise SLI would not work, if not then properly, for a little bit more you can get the x850xt pe
drewkivela Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 well in a year or so that card will be alot cheaper so you'll be able to get another one fairly painlessly -drew
