Finnegan Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 So I'm searching for cooling solutions to a comp I'm going to build (if I land this job I really want ) And I found this on xoxide: http://www.xoxide.com/koolance-pc3-426bk-case-black.html At first sight, I think- AWESOME! My favorite case company (Lian-Li) combined with an integrated watercooling system. Then I read the watercooling FAQ, and learned that most watercooling kits aren't as good as DIY ones. So... can someone who's had experience with watercooling and the likes tell me if this kit will be good for a beginner? It seems a bit pricey, although, I'm willing to spend a little more for convienance, and I love the look of it. I'd add a CPU cooler and an AMD XP adapter to the intial price, as well. (going to be cooling an AMD XP 3ghz system) edit-- I do understand that xoxide overprices, I'm just curious if this will do a good job of cooling or not.. if I should look to something more home brewed or what not. The_WRATH Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 whoa, waita min thats pretty crap cheap for a system like that with a case as nice as that one, somethings wrong lol, exos systems dont give you the best temps, thats probably the main prob you might have with the system its nice looking and will give you.....decent temps, not the best temps but its way better then the exos-al thats for sure. i think you should go ahead and get that, the price is super great and its all preped out for you to just hook up and fill with no probs, good starter kit..if you got the money, if your willing to...maybe later on the road you can make a DIY kit, A LOT of people i no have started out with exos kits, but its later on that they want to get rid of it lol! (Air would be an XP-120 HS w/ sunon 120mm fan) If that system can beat any air system I throw at i, I'll do it.
DarkScorpion Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 XP-120 doesnt fit on Socket A. If I were you, I would NOT spend 300 bucks on a case and crappy w/c kit <_< Just buy the case, and build your own. It will own that exos set-up, and has much more upgradability. Nagash Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 (edited) Koolance is TERRIBLE. The founder of Lian Li is rolling in his grave as we speak. Edited June 21, 2005 by Nagash
Byron Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 If i were you, I would not buy a koolance, For the price, they just dont match up to others. For that price, you can build a kickass water cooling system excluding the case. Oh, i just knoticed, but the setup does not include a water block, so thats an extra 50, then you would want a gpu block, theres another $50. So when its done with, its near $400 and mine cost $300 custom, then a $100 case. Same price in the end, but a whole lot better performance. Nerm Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Another vote for not buying a koolance w/c kit here.
DarkScorpion Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 http://www.svc.com/h20-120-sk-28.html - Now THATS the w/c kit you should get (if you insist on a kit)
