Parrothead Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I have a dial-up internet connection at work... sometimes I work at home in the evenings and use this same account. I constantly get disconnected from this service because it says I have more than one user logged on to this account at the same time. This shouldn't happen as I'm the only one with the user name & password to this account. However, my question is... Is there a way an ISP can tell what IP address or MAC address is being used during these sessions? And #2 - is there a way to set a priority so that I can be assured to using our account without these interruptions? Thanks
oldfett Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Your service provider knows when you are on and how fast you are running! A very scary thought in my opinion because it brings the question, do they have the ablility to monitor what you are looking at? I would suggest calling your provider and asking wtf. Dial-up is kinda stupid though so your error might only be that your internet was dropped. I can get up to 3 diffrent errors for the same problem on dial up so I know its not very consistant.
