Where Have All The Venice Chips Gone?

Recommended Posts

the last i recall was an announcement on the 4th of april that the venice chips were going to be available. yet i search the web and only find one canadian web-site that has them up for pre-orders. was this suppose to be a paper launch for AMD or were these processors suppose to be available? any one know the info?

I think "Where are they" is a better question. As far as I have seen noone actually has the Venice. I thought they were sposed to be out on the 9th or something. I'd like to see howmuch they are.

like i said the official announcement was on the 4th of april. i didn't hear in the announement that they were available but i took at as an asumption because the last 3 launches they have done the product has been available within one week of the launch date. its not like AMD to do paper launches like other companies. i still dont understand why they are sending out chips for reviews yet not available in the retail channel.

There was no official announcement on April 4th. AMD had previously issued some documenta about the 4th being the first day of the revision change and the beginning of shipping, not retail availability. There's no press release on AMD's site yet.

soundman, again I say the official release announcement isn't scheduled until April 15th. April 4th they released some informat, but it was not the official release announcement. There is a difference between the two.

Guest Poopsicle Boy

april 4th was most likely the date they had them all built and ready to send. then they probly have to send them to vendors and all of that technical stuff. personally i didnt really know about the venice chips and so i ordered a normal one 2 weeks ago. but im fine!
