Onyks Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 i understand that all addresses must be converted into an ip before they can connect to a site but what if you only have the IP? How do you get to a website with just an IP? I tried typing in the google IP and our schools IP in the address bar with no luck. Do you have to put slashes in front or what? im mainly just wondering the format that you would type in an IP and where to type it in at. oh also those of you with comcast... Centralops.net (domain dossier) finds dns servers for any site you type in . at least i think it does lol
Nerm Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 If the IP of google.com is say 207.153.68.5 then to get to google.com using the ip address you would type "http://207.153.68.5" or if that doesn't work try "http://207.153.68.5:80"
Sveach Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 you can just type http://216.239.39.99 in the address bar. Or you can just type 216.239.39.99 in the address bar, it works fine for me, it shouuld work fine for you.
LobbDogg Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Yeah just the IP should work, its like the exact same thing as if you are trying to log into your router's webbased configuration page.
