Just Bought 1gb Of Corsair Xms Series Pc3200

Recommended Posts

This stuff is just plain awesome. I used the 1GB of Crucial Ballistix I had in my machine for the new build I did for my wife and bought myself a gig of this just for a change. I love the LEDs on it, but it performs excellent. Computer boots faster, programs load quicker, everything runs better. I was beginning to suspect that my mobo just didn't like the Ballistix, but now I think it's a done deal.

The XMS Pro memory is basically CL3 500 MHz with tightened timings to CL2 for 400.

If i have a P4 3.5 (250MHZ) and stick this PC3200 in (200MHZ), what will happen? Will the ram underclock adn go 5:4 or such dividers, or it will auto o/c to 250MHZ if possible? What happens if it cant o/c to 250mhz, along with my 3.5 to go 1:1?? Lets say the PC3200 is only able to get to about i dunno, a little below 250, how about 230??

ah, the PC3200 Ballistix is rated 2-2-2-6... so i don't really see how the 2-2-2-5 xms pro is faster, unless you're talking overclocked???

are you?

AMD64s like 2-2-2-6 for some reason all the benchs are higher than 5. maybe a little more voltage might change things but at 2.75 6 is better.
