Silverfox Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 option 2. * it takes AA batteries (cheap as hell to get 2500mah NiMh) *It takes compact flash. 1gb is dirt cheap *it has a 10x OPTICAL zoom. that's awesome. *it's canon
confuzzedintelguy Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 well it seems the majority says option 2 how long of battery life do you think ill get from it?
Silverfox Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 well, depends on the capacity of the rechargeable batteries you shove in it. i'd say quite a while with 2300/2500 mah my fuji s304 will last aaaaaaages on 1200mah AA's so i would say at least 250/300 snaps with careful use of the lcd at the back. but if you buy a set of 8 2500's, its like, $16 so thats 2 sets. confuzzedintelguy Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 WOW thats great battery life ight so ill grab two sets of 2500's and a charger when i ge the cam
Silverfox Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 it would be wise imo. get a 1gb memory card too. and a nice padded camera bag.
sykocus Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 stay away from #1. 3 is probably a good camera, but its ugly as was said before. battries aren't a big deal to me. most people go out snap a couple pictures, turn the camera off, turn it back on snap a couple more, repete though out the day. that'll last pretty much all day, just throw the battery back in the charger when you get home the the next day it's ready to go. The CF cards are nice, because they are cheaper then their SD and xD alternatives. The canon also has built in IS (image stabilization)which is useful when trying to hold the camera steady on low light or when zoomed way out. confuzzedintelguy Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) thanks great info and ill be takeing a lot of pictures that is why i want back up batterys on the side as ill be doing about 10-15 reviews at one time in about a month so LOTS of pics EDIT: so ill get these two as well with the cam http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-160-022&depa=1 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-108-655&depa=7 Edited April 11, 2005 by confuzzedintelguy
sykocus Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 if the camera you get uses AA then you won't have a problem, but i was saying that propritary rechargables aren't really a weakness. if you are planning on taking 300 pictures a day you might want to pick up an extra batter, but if not, just remember to stick it in the charger overnight.
