Bleeble Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I know AIM has an option for auto-respond with away messages. I want to do that with Gaim but I can't figure out how. The online documentation isn't very helpful in that respect, and google just shows old crap that doesn't apply. How can I turn on some type of auto-respond (with away/idle messages)??? Propane Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) it works for me running 1.1.4 it might not echo it to your screen, Ill check it out later Edited April 11, 2005 by Kevin_E_Cramer
Bleeble Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I'll have to check to see if I have the lastest version when I get home. You might be right. I'll have someone else IM me when I'm away to see if it shows up. EDIT: downloaded and installed 1.2.1 and it still doesn't auto-respond when I message myself. Nobody else is online right now, so I can't try that.

Bleeble Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Well, I had someone else IM me while I was away and it didn't do it. Is that a useless/dead option? Clarification: I put up an away message and then they IMed me.

Bleeble Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 well, I left my computer for 10-15 minutes and it did do the auto-reply thing. but I don't know if it was because I was idle or because I was away... oh well, at least it works. thanks.
