NoNothing Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 well, sorry i couldent get any pics of it happening, but i could describe it. We had this toaster, brand new, out on a tree stump and on that peice of stone. we then jammed the auto safty shutoff DOWN with a nickle and pluged it in. There where 2 Strawberey poptarts gracing the pressence of this perticular toster. After about 5 minutes, all we noticed was a blackening of the poptarts and they began to warp and ozze started to flow from them, we realise they needed a catlyst to get ignighted., we then put a napkin in each of the slots, and to our supprise the poptarts BURST into flames, im not jokin 4 feet high, very pretty colors (sorry nrg, no "english" spelling) too. The flames began to gradualy decrease in size and eventualy all that was left was the plastic of the toaster on fire, we tried to put it out wiht water. not realising that it was a grease fire, so needless to say it was stupid! we just let it burn out, One of my freinds freid to coat his house key in melted plastic, jsut when a capciter (we think) exploded and he has scars of burt plastic on his hand now. I keed the toaster in my room as a book stand (snice i paied for it) and i figured id share some pics of it with you guys. sory there are so few but i treid to keep the toaster in the condition it was in when we where done burning it(aside from the placement of the plug, we thought that owuld add more artistic "flare" to it) enjoy! oh, and if you are gonna do this at home, PLEASE do it outside in a safe area, and have a fire extiguisher rated to put out grease fires ( "C" i belive, corect me if im wrong)

jammin Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Hmmm.. how old are you? Just wondering because I think I've grown out of my 'playing with fire' stage (it's always there however and comes out for BBQ's and the like). You did a good job of destroying that toaster though, and I'm sure it was entertaining How much did you pay for it btw?

Kamikaze_Badger Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I pity your friend. I've had molten plastic get on my thumb before... . hurt. Badly. Very very badly. That stuff stays hot, and you can't get it off... But that was a good story . Good to hear you're alright.
