Hosher Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 I have an athlon 2000+ xp and I'm running it at 1800 right now(fsb 144), I decided to up the voltage a lil bit and I did increased it by 5% because that was my lowest setting and it took my voltage from 1.78 to 1.9. When I did that my cpu temp went up something like 5 degrees Celsius, which brings it to 55 which I thought was too hot. I still plan on increasing my fsb just a little more, don't know why I just want to. What problems could I run into if I increased my fsb more and didn't increase my voltage at all? I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Thank you.
Ronin Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 biggest problem is that the system might hang/freeze and it will crash more often. You should up the fsb until your system becomes unstable and THEN up the voltage. Watch your temps, upping hte voltage (as you've found) ups the temps a lot.
