VolcomPimp Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 well I have my pc, a nice sparc linux box which would probly be great for WU's and a few other comps lieing around which I dont use so Im considering getting some use out of them... but I was wondering how long WU's take on folding vs Seti? Bosco Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Folding WU's take longer than Seti WU's. However, we need a lot more help with the Folding team rather than the Seti team. Seti@home project will be dead in a few months (then they start new and similar project). I'd join the Folding team because it seems more competitive
VolcomPimp Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 I'll think about it... I'll probly set it up on my sparc system and let it run a while and compare it to ppl's pc's on here to get a good idea on whether it'll do me any good to use it on there... bass_freak Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Well, the thing with Folding is, each WU takes difrent amounts of times, they go on a points system, rather then time, wish is much nicer, and more fair in a sence, the more complex the WU, the more points you get basiclay.
