bambam Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Hi guy's, Here is a list of what I have and what I want to do but not to sure how. 2 user PC's (mine and my sisters) NT & XP 1 IBM pc325 (Server) NT Server 2 laptops (Mine) (98 & 2000pro) 1 3com 10mb 12port hub. I have managed to network all PC's, Laptops (so they can see each other and a main folder on the server) just by putting them in the same workgroup. But when I go in to the main folder on there server I have to log in as administrator and enter the password for the server and when I try to go in to another computer on my network I have to enter a password but no user? T-shirt Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 for the dsl sharing buy a router/nat box like Linksys, siemens, etc with too laptops you might want to consider a model with both wired and wireless ports the problem is that NT does not allow login with out a password. I think there are some utilities that can automate the login, the only danger being (maybe) the loss of some security ( what NT was designed for) Both win2k and xp have better security, and controls.
