d3bruts1d Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Welcome to the club. highspeedpc.com has an unlocking kit that you can buy, comes with instructions. Most people tend to lower the multiplier and raise the FSB, as it allows for a higher bus speed, which also helps OC the memory, pci, and agp. Xune Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 From what I understand the newer AMDxp series are lasercut making them all but impossible to use the old pencil trick on them. I have a xp1800+ and havent messed with it. I have seen a kit you can buy for about $10 that claims it can do it effortlessly but seeing is beliveing, if anyone out there has used it I would like to hear about it! Cheers! here is a site with some overclockers that have it stretched out thin! http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/TBred/ I would just sell your 1800+ and buy a T-bread core AMDxp1800+ thats what Im likely going to do, I will post on how it turns out.
