Limiting A Folders Size

Is there a way to limit the size of an individual folder.

I have set up one of my computers as an FTP server and have told one of my friends that he can use it to back up some of his files on it. I have made a folder for him on the computer and only he can access that and it is the only folder that he can access. Though i want to make sure that he doesn't put literally loads of stuff on there and fill the disk so i wanted to put a limit on the size of the folder.

Any help with this would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah, to make a disk quota though, I'm pretty sure you'll need to make a new partition, and manage it on that drive in particular.

don't some ftp server programs have the ability to limit the size uploaded to it?

I'd check that out. seems the simplest way to go. I know ser-u ftp server allows you to set up a disk quota for each user.
