Xabrophazon Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 I noticed that some newer motherboards have a 2 rows of 12 power supply plug instead of the normal 2 rows of 10. Have they updated these? I noticed that on the PSU I have that it has a plug with 2 rows of 10 and one with 2 rows of 2. Could I just plug this one in next to the other one and have it work, or do I need a new PSU? lilkev715 Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 The extra 4 pins are for additional 3.3v/5v/12v/ground wires. You cannot plug the 4-pin ATX 12v "P4" connector in to fill up those extra 4 pins. As for the the current PSU you have, you can plug in a 20-pin PSU into a 24-pin slot. Here I demonstrated that it works perfectly fine.
