Temperature Sensor

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a Thermaltake Case (see below) and it comes with a temp sensor linked to a readout display on the front panel. At the moment, it is just sitting in the case thereby giving me the temperature inside the case/mobo - but I would like it to give me the temperature of the CPU itself - does anyone know how to go about this or how to use the sensor correctly? I don't have to dislodge and re-seat my HS&F do I?

Yes, you'll need to take the HSF off....

Remove the HSF...

Place the sensor next to the CPU die, not below or over, but beside...

Secure the sensor with some tape... duct tape, not recomended. :P Scotch works well, or the tape that should have come with teh sensors.

Reapply thermal compound to the CPU

Place the HSF back on.
