OC N00b Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 When overclocking you want to increase your voltage. But how much and when. Say im running a stock 2.4ghz pentium 4. What is the ratio of increase of ghz to voltage. For example, for every .2ghz you increase voltage 0.05 volts. and for every .4ghz you up the voltage .1 volts. so what is the ratio. Also my motherboard doesnt support normal increase like say its stock 1.5 it wont let me increase it to 1.55 or 1.6 it only lets me increase in percents of 5% and 10%. so is uping voltage in percent good? Guest Silenc3 Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 depends on the chip, give it more vcore when it gets to an unstable point, then try from there. OC'ing doesnt have a manual, Its always different
lilkev715 Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 There is no "ratio" of increasing voltages. You increase voltages as necessary to achieve stability. As for the percentages, use a calculator and figure out what the percentages are in terms of voltage.
