sYstEmATiC Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 is it a pci or agp card? it will work in that system depending on if its the right slot type....
imm0rt41 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 It should work, is the card AGP and does his mobo have an AGP slot?
nVidia_Freak Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Yes, the K6-2 will work with it fine. The K6-2 is equivalent to a PIII depending on the speed. How fast is the K6-2?
BionicSniper Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 i had a geforce 4 ti4200 on a 1.3durron so..............
Compxpert Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Yea it will work. I got a K6-2 and I know by its benches its the eq of a PIII. I'm not that guy who asked for the card though. I could buy a better card but its not worth it. I could if the board was AGP compatible but sadly it isn't.
guzzidom Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I've got an old spare AMD k6-2 550mhz system (which is the fastest K6-2 I believe) and with my spare 9600xt in it it plays Return to Castle Wolfenstien at about 30 fps, absolutely useless games cpu that one!, Good luck to your man with the mx4000! Eva_Unit_0 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 lol no a k6-2 can't touch the pIII in benches. It was originally designed to compete with the pII, but it got thoroughly raped by that as well. The off-die L2 cache just kills its performance. But anyway, yeah it will work. Just make sure that if it's an agp card he has an agp slot to put it in.
