How To Enter Bios In Win Xp?

i have a sony vaio comp with a athlon xp 2400+ at 2.0 ghz, asus motherboard, and windows xp, and i cannot figure out how to enter bios during boot-up!!

 

how do i do so? or, is there a way to go into bios while in xp?

 

p.s. it is 1 in the morning here and i am going to go to bed as soon as i post this, so it wont be until tomorrow before i check this!

You have to enter the BIOS during system start up... Should be F1, F2, Delete, Esc, or some other key during the voot process. If windows begings to start, you've missed it.

usually within the first 5 seconds or right after you hear a beep continuously tap delete button... If delete doesn't try any of the others d3 suggested.........

On my IBM machine here at work, you have to press "ctrl-S" before it loads ni order to get into the BIOS....diffferent vendors have different key combos so try a search on it on google.

Thanks ronin, but i'm trying not to, this is a brand-new computer.

 

does anyone know how to enter the bios with a Sony Vaio desktop computer model # PCV-RXA842!?

in extreme cases I find mashing the keyboard works wonders

thats how i figured our which button i needed lol

Many manufacturers will often limit the ability of the user to change system settings in the bios. So even if you do get into the bios, it may not be to much help. My Compaq would only ever let me into the standard CMOS setup, and it's bios access was f10. <_
