CNUco2007 Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Why do people buy the A64 3500+ just to reduce the multiplier to 10x? Why not just buy a 3200+? I was just wondering. I have a 3200+ and i love it. Running stable at 2.7ghz!
Kash Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Because they CAN I dunno, maybe cuz they have the money and want to spend it on the best processor they can get. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that the 3500 runs 200MHz faster, which is a 200MHz "overclock advantage" they get compared to the 3200. Some people don't like to overclock to the extremes, so they think that 200MHz more now means they don't have to go as far to get to 2.4 or 2.5GHz

LFATB Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Higher binned chip, you also don't have to run 270x10 to reach that 2.7, also garunteed at least 2.2, so even if it doesn't oc well, you still hav
